OUR PHILOSOPHY
AT JEWELHOUSE PRESCHOOL,
we strive to cultivate respect, compassion, leadership, and fortitude by providing children with opportunities to express their individuality, through our Reggio Emilia Approach.
Our centre follows the Reggio Emilia approach whereby children are capable of their own learning and have a desire to learn.

The Reggio Emilia classrooms focus on child-directed learning and teacher-facilitated teaching. Teachers are considered a co-learner and collaborator with the child and just an instructor (Levine & Munsch, 2018). We believe in facilitating the child’s learning by planning activities according to the child’s interests, asking questions while actively engaging in activities alongside children through collaboration.

Collaboration allows children to voice out their opinion for a sense of belonging. Group works promote problem-solving and interpersonal skills. We believe that the environment acts as a 3rd teacher in children’s learning. Providing a conducive environment through the Reggio approach can inculcate intellectual curiosity and help develop a passion for learning.
